Torres del Paine is a spectacular National Park in southern Chile. I was lucky enough to visit this stunning area with the family as part of an overland trip through Patagonia. As an outdoor loving family, hiking the W-Trek was always going to be a highlight.
The Three Towers were initially shrouded in clouds as we started hiking up the Ascencio valley to the mirador; however, nature had a spectacular performance in store. As we patiently sat on a rock, the sun emerged, burning off the clouds and revealing the majestic Three Towers in all their glory. As a finishing touch, my husband wished for a condor, and as if on cue, a condor gracefully appeared. It couldn't get any better. Back home, I had to translate that experience into a quilt that would forever encapsulate the magic of that special day.
